New Accista Spa
Hyatt Regency Monterey Hotel & Spa is pleased to announce the opening of Accista Spa, the hotel's $6.5 million luxury spa. Positioned to become the ultimate destination sanctuary on the Monterey Peninsula, the 12,000 sq. ft. spa draws inspiration from the surrounding vibrant natural landscape, local history, and biological rhythms of the changing seasons, to present a warm, restful ambiance and indigenously-inspired treatments that capture the essence of Monterey.
Inspired by Nature - The concept of Accista Spa, pronounced {"ah-KEY-stah"}, draws insight from the seasonal continuum of nature and the native people's respect for the seasonal rhythm of harvest, rest, renewal and abundance. Inspired by Monterey's rich growing region, custom blends change with the historical harvest to include local, natural elements of acorn, fennel and artichoke; California poppy and clover; and, horsetail & elderberry. Monterey-centric elements, such as organic seaweed, algae, and marine minerals feature in many treatments. Cleanse, Radiance, Renewal and Rest facial treatments utilize established and esteemed skin care lines, such as SkinCeuticals and Comfort Zone. A complete seasonal immersion, full-day Journey and half-day Pathway packages are designed for cleansing (Harvest), calming (Rest), nourishing (Renewal), and enriching (Abundance).

Designed by Nature - Monterey's colors, seasons, and natural beauty are the foundation of Accista Spa. Virtually 100% custom-created, the spa is designed to draw immediate connection between indoors and outdoors. Featured throughout, four elements of metal, wood, stone, and glass overlap and work off one another, contrasting warm colors, natural textures, and bright sunlight. Large panoramic windows bring the outdoors in, while graceful lines and recessed ceilings create a feeling of spaciousness.
Notable features include 10 spa treatment rooms - 6 spacious single-treatment rooms and 4 couples spa suites. Generously-designed at almost 350 sq. ft., each boasting warm, natural light, a fireplace and relaxation area for two, and side-by-side massage tables, the spa suites will be the only ones of their kind on the Monterey Peninsula. The specialty Couples Suite, luxuriously-sized at over 500 sq. ft., also includes a large, freestanding sculptural soaking tub with ceiling mounted tub filler. The spacious full service hair and nail salon features 3 manicure, 4 pedicure, and 4 hair stations, while men's and women's locker facilities each offer custom sauna and steam room.
Green by Nature - Particular attention has been given to the use of renewable, sustainable and recyclable products at Accista Spa. Environmentally-conscientious design choices include water efficient faucets, energy efficient lighting and sustainable textiles made of fibers obtained from recycled products. Socially-consious products and treatments will include the introduction of an entirely organic facial and organic body treatment, in addition to SpaRitual and Alterna products in the salon.
